Sage ACT! Pro 2012 is a contact management and productivity application for individuals and small groups. It links a database of contact information with calendar, task, and appointment scheduling features that can be shared with other users in a group. It includes contact history, status, reporting, document generation, and exporting capabilities.

Up to 10 users can work with an organization's data simultaneously, but each user must have a separate installation of the software as well as the corresponding user license. This donation includes one user license. Organizations can add up to nine more by purchasing them directly from Sage.

Sage ACT! Pro 2012 is designed as a productivity tool supporting a sales process. The process itself proceeds from identifying prospects or opportunities through attaining closure on a commitment, which can be easily mapped to a nonprofit model. For example, Sage ACT! could be used to define contacts for fundraising and then track the history of interactions with each contact or organization and the overall status of the campaign. Sage ACT! also contains e-mail templates and scheduling features that help organizations create multi-step marketing campaigns and maintain regular communication with actual and potential supporters.

Documents and emails can be attached to contact records to provide a complete history of the relationship. Different contacts can share notes and history. A company can be defined as an entity, and then contacts can be linked to the company record. Schedules and projects can be shared with other Sage ACT! 2012 users and integrated with Outlook for others in the organization who do not use Sage ACT! 2012.

Included with Sage ACT! Pro 2012 is Sage ACT! Scratchpad, a virtual notepad for creating tasks and recording notes and contact information without opening Sage ACT! Tasks requiring a follow-up can also be pushed to Sage ACT! and even assigned to a contact.

Sage ACT! Pro 2012 includes built-in word processing, reporting, and mail merge features. It integrates with Outlook, Excel, Word, and Lotus Notes; social networking services such as Facebook and LinkedIn; and Google services like Gmail, Google Contacts, and Google Calendar. With an additional purchase, Sage ACT! Pro 2012 can also be synchronized with notebooks and mobile devices or integrated with various accounting software applications.

Rules, Eligibility and Restrictions

  • Donated product will be distributed under this program to qualifying organizations only, not to individuals.
  • One donation each of Sage ACT!, Sage Peachtree, Sage Simply Accounting, and Sage Payment Solutions may be requested within a fiscal year (July 1 to June 30).
  • Only organizations with annual operating budgets of $500,000 or less are eligible to receive a donation of Sage ACT!, Sage Peachtree, or Sage Simply Accounting. There is no budget restriction for Sage Payment Solutions.
  • This donation is available to nonprofits with 501(c)(3) designation and non-501(c)(3) public libraries. Public libraries must either have valid 501(c)(3) nonprofit status or be listed in the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) database.
  • Recipient organizations must be willing and able to provide information to Sage for the purposes of creating a case study or testimonial on this program.
  • Organizations that advocate, support, or practice discrimination based on age, ethnicity, gender, national origin, disability, race, size, religion, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic background are not eligible to participate in this program. Organizations must be willing and able to attest that they do not discriminate on any of these grounds in order to receive donations.
  • Sage products may not be transferred or resold.
